Information Report about Oxygen

Oxygen is unseen air that is formed by fresh nature.

Oxygen is invisible and has no smell but it makes up a fifth of air around us. Oxygen is an element. Elements are basic substance that combines to form all the materials found on Earth. Oxygen is the most common element on earth. Almost half of the earth’s crust is oxygen.

There are more than 100 elements. Some elements that you may hear of include aluminium, lead, mercury, uranium and helium. Elements have different properties. Some are normally solids some are gases and a couple are liquids.

Oxygen gets recycled from plants to animals and back again. Green plants combine the sun’s energy with water and carbon dioxide to create food for themselves. Plants use carbon dioxide to breath out more oxygen.

Anything that is on fire needs oxygen to burn. Humans need oxygen to breathe. When they climb up high the mountains they take air tanks because the air is too thin to breathe properly. Human bodies inhale 6 billion tones of oxygen in a year.

Without oxygen the human race would die out and there would be no life on earth.
